The Challenge
Access Records Management provides storage, retrieval,
management and eventual destruction of their client's confidential
data and documents. They guarantee a two hour retrieval and
delivery service and are based in Sydney operating out of a 9,000
square meter warehouse.
They rely heavily on their IT infrastructure and a number of warehouse
management database applications to deliver their service.
The initial challenge was to set up a temporary sales office while
their head office premises where being redeveloped.
The temporary sales office required seamless access into the
primary IT infrastructure for all aspects of operation including access
to files, email and database applications. At the completion of the
redevelopment the sales office needed to be integrated back.
The second challenge came after the completion of the head office
redevelopment. Access Records Management needed to address
the IT infrastructure downtime and performance issues that where
affecting their ability to deliver their services.
Orstead’s Solution
Orstead's Network Design & Installation service was
engaged to set up a temporary sales office with a
virtual private network (VPN) connection into head office. The
VPN allowed the sales office access to email, files and database
applications operating as if they where still physically located in
head office.
Once the redevelopment work had been completed the
Orstead Maintenance & Security service optimized
Access Records Management servers. Orstead worked
with Access Records Management to apply a standard
operating environment (SOE) to all workstations
and develop policy and procedures defining internal
and external security and remote access solutions.
Orstead's IT Support & Help Desk service, Monitoring
service and Maintenance & Security service have
been engaged to address all IT infrastructure needs
on an ongoing basis in an efficient and cost effective
manner.
